2010 – Adidas Superstar Showcase Vol. 2

2012 – Brian Pegg, 6’6 Guard, Oldsmar Christian – Pegg is long and deceivingly athletic, but needs to develop a quicker first step to beat smaller guards off the dribble. He is an excellent catch and shoot player, but must work on a quicker release to get it off at the college level. Brian is very crafty, and posses more of a European type of game. He uses shot fakes, runners, floaters, euro-steps and creative finishes to score against more athletic defenders. For his size, his skill level is off the charts. He handles the ball extremely well and displays a very high basketball IQ. Brian must do a better job rebounding the ball, and become a better on the ball defender to improve his college stock.

Tim Dixon

Tim Dixon

2011 – Tim Dixon, 6’10 Forward, Oldsmar Christian – Tim runs the floor very well for a big man showing a high motor, although he needs to learn to fight through fatigue. He is very long and athletic, but needs to fill out his frame. Dixon shows a natural ability, with proper footwork to come off screens and rise up into his jump shot, but tends to settle for too many jump shots. He does show added weight since the summer and an improved skill level on the low block. Tim is even showing much more toughness banging in the boards with the occasional eye catching tip dunk. At this rate of improvement, he should be able to step in and play some quality minutes for the Georgia Bulldogs as a freshman.

Xavier Owens

Xavier Owens

2011 – Xavier Owens, 6’4 Wing, Wharton High – Arguably the most explosive player in camp, Owens did a great job of using his strong build to get to the rack. Xavier showed off his athleticism with multiple dunks and big time blocks at Lynn University. He did a great job of getting his defenders on his hips and using his body to finish with contact. “X” has solid mechanics on his shot, but shoots it very flat, which leads to inconsistent results from mid-range and behind the line. His ball handling and finishes are dominated by his right hand, but with his body control and athleticism he finds away to make it work. Xavier is a definite competitor and didn’t back down from any challenges in Boca Raton.

2011 – Alex Kojchevski, 6’8 Forward, Sagemont – Kojchevski has a good body and is an above average athlete, but used his will and determination to own the glass at the Adidas Superstar Showcase in Boca Raton, Florida. The 6’8 forward did a great job using his size on smaller defenders and quickness on bigger defenders to rebound in and out of area, and earn the award for the best rebounder in camp. Alex is a good ball handler for his position, but clearly feels far more comfortable handling the ball with his right hand at this time. Kojchevski displayed a solid looking stroke and finished well around the basket.

Adonis Burbage

Adonis Burbage

2011 – Adonis Burbage, 6’4 Wing, Orlando Christian Prep – Adonis displayed a great ability to score the ball in transition, even though he is only an above average athlete. Burbage made some strong finishes around the rim and pull up jumpers in transition to score the majority of his points at camp. He displayed a consistent ability to knock down the midrange shot, but his three point shot is flat and had inconsistent results from behind the arc. He is more of a slasher than a shooter at this stage in his career, but if he develops a tighter handle, becomes a consistent three point shooter, and can be considered a shooting guard compared to a wing, his stock with college coaches will rise.

Staphon Blair

Staphon Blair

2012 – Staphon Blair, 6’8 Forward, Dillard – Blair has a physical body, and is not afraid to use it. He used his size to bang against weaker defenders for offensive positioning and rebounds all camp. Stephan is a run and jump athlete, and does a good job using his strength and quickness to secure out of area rebounds. Blair does a great job of racing the floor for easy transition dunks. He did a good job of challenging and blocking shots in the paint. Stephan’s defense and rebounding ability is certainly ahead of his offensive skill level, but if he develops some post moves, his national rankings could rise.

Jordan Montgomery

Jordan Montgomery

2012 – Jordan Montgomery, 6’4 Wing, Orlando Christian Prep – Jordan is a wing guard with a good build and solid athleticism. He did a great job of playing within his team’s offense, and not forcing bad shots. His three point shot is good enough to keep defenders honest, but he shoots it better from midrange at this point in his career. Montgomery did a good job of playing the passing lanes and getting steals at camp. Jordan used his triple threat skill level on the perimeter to get past his defenders and used crafty finishes at the rim. He displayed a good basketball IQ by making simple and unselfish plays throughout the day. Jordan has the tools to be a great on the ball defender, if he buys into the value of being a defensive stopper. Overall, Jordan Montgomery had a very productive camp.
