Brice Jenkins Will Sign Late

Brice Jenkins has made a decision that he is going to keep his recruitment open and sign in the late period. Jenkins, a 6’3 athletic guard from Summit Christian in West Palm Beach, Florida, had a junior season full of accolades.

Jenkins averaged 15.5ppg, 9.8rpg and 4apg, on a team that finished 28-5, with a district and regional championship, and lost in the 2A state championship game to powerhouse Arlington Country Day. Additionally, Brice earned First Team All-Area by the Palm Beach Post, and Third Team All-State by the Florida Sportswriters Association.

When asked what he is looking for in a college program Jenkins replied: “I’m looking for a school that is going to benefit me in my academics and basketball. I want to come in as a strong freshman and make a great impact on my team and lead them to where they need to be.”

Brice says he is receiving interest from the following programs: High Point, Virginia Tech, Jacksonville, Fordham, UCF, Elon, Tennessee-Chattanooga, North FL, Columbia, Buffalo, Long Island, Winthrop, UNC Greensboro , Princeton, Middle Tennessee St., Stetson, and Western Michigan.

After success with his high school team, Jenkins played on the travel circuit with Gold Coast. Gold Coast assistant coach Jarrod Lazurus had this to say about Brice: “Brice is one of the most athletic players in the country. He has high-major speed and is able to attack the rim and finish with both hands. He is a high energy defender who loves the challenge of guarding the top guards in the country. He is a slasher and can finish with both hands. He is super athletic and can blow by anyone. He was the best defender we had on our team”

With the entire Summit Christian team returning from last season, Jenkins is hoping repeated success, and a potential state championship will help his recruitment blossom, and turn the interest from college programs into offers.

Murry Smith, head coach at Summit Christian had this to say about Brice: “Brice plays extremely hard all the time on both ends of the floor. He doesn’t just play offense, he defends, and he is a very good defender. He is solid in every facet in the game: he rebounds, passes and makes his teammates better and he plays hard all the time.”
