Daniel Herrera
Danny Herrera, a 6’5 guard from Doral Academy High School, is visiting an Ivy League school this weekend. Daniel averaged 21.8 points, and 12 rebounds a game last year for Doral High, leading them to an overall record of 12-13. Herrera holds multiple school records, including most points in a season, most two point field goals made, most overall field goals made, most rebounds in a season and rebounds in a game.
Herrera played travel ball this summer for the Gold Coast basketball program, which provided him the exposure to earn college interest from Dartmouth, Lehigh, Jacksonville, Sam Houston State, High Point and FIU.
“Danny is a super athletic wing that plays above the rim. He has a great frame which allows him to bang around the rim and his guard skills have improved, allowing him to be a mismatch for several post players. You can count on Danny for either having a highlight dunk or block in every game. He is a high academic student as well! He is a great kid off the court to be around.” – Jarrod Lazarus , Director of Gold Coast Basketball.
Herrera would be a great get for Dartmouth and Coach Paul Cormier. Dartmouth finished with a record of 5-23 last year and are picked to finish 8th in the Ivy League by preseason polls, but if they land players like Daniel Herrera, look for them to make great strides in the future.
