John Florveus
John Florveus, a 7’0, 220 pound center from Hillsborough Community College, is off the board. He averaged 8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game last season, helping him earn offers from UTEP, Marshall, Washington State, Hawaii, Georgia State, Duquesne, Georgia, and Canisius.
Florveus visited UTEP, Marshall, Washington State, and the University of Georgia. John had this to say about his visit to Georgia – “I liked everything about the Georgia visit, but I loved the food: they stuffed me every chance they got and I loved it. The players were great to be around. I loved the people, the facilities: the whole trip was great overall. I put in a lot of hard work in over the summer and got much better, and I think the staff at Georgia believes in me.”
John committed to the University of Georgia after taking his official visit to Athens last weekend. “I chose UGA for numerous reasons; I think they have the best situation for me. They have a great staff, great academics, a great basketball program and a great fan base. Coach Fox was a Junior College guy and he knows what it’s like for a guy like me, that also factored into my decision, also it’s close to home.” John Florveus on why he chose the University of Georgia.
