“Superb floor general, great court awareness, high basketball IQ, and great strength” is how former Florida Gator’s guard and current Sickles coach Renaldo Garcia describes rising senior Jordan Davis.
Davis, a 5’10, 190 pound point guard, has led Sickles High School to three straight district championships. Davis has also led Hillsborough County in assists since his freshman year.
Jordan led Sickles to a 24-5 record last season while averaging 9ppg, 8apg, 4rpg and 2spg. Davis also earned first team all Hillsborough County last year after helping Sickles make it to the Regional Semifinals in class 6A.
In addition to being the starting point guard on Florida Elite’s 17 and under team for the last two years, Jordan has also helped lead the team to two wins over All Ohio Red, and wins over the Florida Rams and South Florida Elite.
Florida Elite has also won the Disney Spring Classic, the Tournament of Champions, and the State USSA, in addition to making the Finals of the Best of the South and the semifinals of the Specie Run and Slam, Big Shots and AAU States
Jordan’s summer travel coach Conrad Foss said “Jordan’s greatest asset is his competitiveness and desire to win; it’s off the charts, besides that he is a true point guard who is best when he is looking to set up the table for his team. If players back off, he can knock down the three and get to the rim.”
A tough, physical pass first point guard, Jordan runs the team with maturity beyond his years. He always seems to get the ball to the right place at the right time, whether it’s in transition or in a half court set. He is great at using his strength to get to the rim and finish, or to create shots for teammates. Davis often gets easy baskets in transition and has the ability to knock down the open three.
This type of play has led to Miami, Iowa, LaSalle, American, Western Kentucky, Western Carolina, Elon, Florida Atlantic, Stetson, Binghamton, College of Charleston, and Jacksonville University all calling on him.
