On Saturday the Classes of 2010 and 2011 participated in the Nike Team Florida Workout. In front of the top scouts in the country players challenged each other and themselves to prove they were worth of the attention they have been receiving from college coaches. We’ve identified the seven best in each class for the day.
Class of 2010 Super Seven
- Okaro White – 6’9 BF Clearwater –committed to Florida State: There wasn’t anything he didn’t do today. White dominated the glass, shot well from the perimeter and rejected shots on the defensive end. His length, athleticism, and body control allow him to finish in traffic and he also handles the ball well for a guy his size out on the perimeter.
- Wilfried Yeugette – 6’7 BF/WF Florida Air: His tenaciousness on the glass was exception. With sure hands he grabbed everything that came even remotely close to him. On the offensive end, he gets off of his feet quickly to snare rebounds and will go up a second and third time until he gets it down. Yeugette also does well driving the baseline finishing in traffic as well as knocks down shots from the perimeter.
- Harold Doby – 6’6 WF Oldsmar Christian – committed to Georgia State: He proved to be very skilled, particularly in handling the basketball and getting to the rim. Doby also shot well, rebounded in traffic, and was alert for steals in the passing lanes. He competes hard every play of the game.
- Dennis Mavin – 6’2 PG Gainesville The Rock School: Lightning quick with the basketball, Mavin gets to the rim with ease and is a great finisher in traffic. His three point shot was working today which is a good sign. Normally, he’ll throw a quick move at his defender to get him off balance and knock down mid-range jumpers all day. Mavin is also a solid defender and picks up quite a few steals with quick hands and feet.
- Keith Matthews – 6’5 WF/BF Sebastian River: He’s always seemed undersized for the four spot but now he is showcasing his ability to handle the basketball on the floor and shoot from the perimeter. With long arms and springs in his legs he beats bigger defenders for rebounds on both ends of the court.
- Santoine Butler – 6’7 BF Oldsmar Christian: While other guys wore down at the end of the day he seemed very fresh. He runs the court well, is quick off of his feet for rebounds, can put the ball on the floor for one or two dribble and score when facing the basket, and finishes with authority on the break.
- Keith McDougald – 6’2 WG/PG Jacksonville Bishop Kenney: A strong guard, McDougald is a solid scorer from mid-range and beyond. He can get to the basket and either finish or find the open man. McDougald plays hard on the defensive end and is a disruptive on-the-ball defender.
Class of 2011 Super Seven

- Chris Bryant – 6’7 BF Tallahassee Rickards: Long and bouncy, he had a few soul-crushing dunks on helpless defenders. A little on the thin side, he’s very active on the glass at both ends, sprints the court on the break, and rejected a shot or two on the defensive end. He needs some offensive skill work but he’s got a solid future.
- Scottie Wilbekin – 6’2 PG Gainesville The Rock School: Whether running the team or playing off the ball, Wilbekin simply knows how to play. He can knock down shots from mid-range off the bounce or hit from behind the arc. Wilbekin handles the basketball with surety and confidence, makes good decisions, and most importantly gets the rock to his teammate where he can best use it.
- Jason Pimental – 6’7 BF Ocala Trinity Catholic: He has all the tools to be big time. Pimental has a good frame, is athletic, and runs the court well. He demonstrated the ability to score inside with either hand, get quickly off of his feet for rebounds, and hit shots from fifteen feet and in. When he floats on the perimeter, he loses his effectiveness.
- Adonis Burbage – 6’5 WF Orlando Christian Prep: Burbage may have been the best shooter at the event. Scoring both off the catch and the dribble from all over the court, the ball always looked like it was going down. He handles the ball well and despite a thin frame does well on the glass.
- Evin Graham – 6’3 PG Fort Myers: Another player that is comfortable both on and off the ball, Graham did a little bit of everything. He was alert defensively for steals, passed ahead for scores on the break, broke down the defense on the dribble, and knocked down open shots. The one area of concern was he missed some easy shots near basket.
- Rashawn Rembert – 6’3 WG Tampa Sickles: Very athletic, Rembert does his best work when he is able to get out in transition. He’s very active on the glass as well as in the passing lanes on the defensive end. While he didn’t come across as a great shooter, he did knock down a three and a mid-range jumper off the dribble.
- Dominique Williams – 6’4 WG Haines City: He did a little bit of everything: breaking down the defense and scoring in traffic; hitting threes off the catch, making steals, hitting cutters for buckets and attacking the glass.
