Rashaad Richardson Is Headed To The CAA

Rashaad Richardson is headed to the Colonial Athletic Association to play his college basketball. Richardson a 6’4, wiry guard who led Oldsmar Christian in scoring and averaged 24.6 points this season, decided on Georgia State after visiting there last weekend. Rashaad is an athletic high-scoring guard, with a great midrange game. He has an ability to hit big time shots, and has very good footwork, coming off screens and out of triple threat.

Rashaad Richardson on why he chose Georgia State – “I decided on Georgia State for several reasons: the city of Atlanta is very nice, the staff is great and Coach Barnes is a great guy, who really focuses on his players earning their degrees. Also, Georgia State is not far from home, and I have family in the area so they and my Aunt Zelda can watch me play. On my visit I got a chance to play pickup with their players, and they seemed really cool, and I developed a level of comfort. I am very excited to be a Panther.”

Rashaad will become the seventh signee in the 2010 recruiting class for the Georgia State Panthers, joining high school and summer teammate, Harold Doby, a 6’6 wing. The other 5 signees are Eric Buckner, a 6’10, junior forward from Erhardt, S.C. (Bamberg-Ehrhardt HS/Gulf Coast C.C.), Javonte Maynor, a 6’0, freshman guard from Snellville, Ga. (South Gwinnett HS), Brandon McGee, a 6’7 junior, forward from Chicago, Ill. (Crane HS/Wabash Valley College), Josh Micheaux, a 6’6 junior, wing from Missouri City, Texas (Elkins HS/Lee College) and  DeVonta White, a 5’10 freshman, guard from Roswell, Ga. (Centennial HS).
