Shane Larkin
Shane Larkin, a 6’0 guard from Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, FL, is visiting Coach Jim Larranaga and the George Mason Patriots this weekend. Larkin is a very familiar face in Florida, especially after leading Dr. Phillips to the state championship game last year. Shane set the school record in steals in a game with a total of 9. He also set the single season steal record at 113. Shane has a number of accomplishments under his belt, including last year’s district championship and leading his team to the 17th consecutive 20 game winning season.
Last year, Shane earned first team all state for 6A, first team all Metro, and a national ranking by a number of recruiting services. He also lead his team in scoring, assists, and steals, averaging 19ppg, 4.3 asts, and 3.4 spg earning his high school teams MVP award after leading them to a 23-6 record last year.
Larkin continued tearing up the competition on the summer circuit, playing for Coach Diana Neal and the Florida Assault. Shane’s year round play has helped him receive offers form Boston College, Colorado, DePaul, George Mason, South Florida, VCU, UCF and Clemson.
George Mason will be Larkin’s final visit after already visiting Colorado University on September 18th, University of South Florida on September 24th, DePaul University on September 27th, and Boston College on October 2nd. The Patriots had an average season last year, going 17-15, but earned national recognition after reaching the final four in 2006
